For our younger their journey is very different and contact has been more immediate from them being very young. <br />All circumstances are different and you've got to protect your son in what sounds like a complex dynamic. If I thought for one moment my child could/would remain living with us and have contact with their birth mother, I would do it. I would do anything to help him heal, she is in no way harmful to him and it might be possible to persuade her to have direct contact. Unfortunately, if he knew where she was he would then try to dash off the next moment of upset and try to live with her, despite birth mother's letter box reassurances that he is in the right place with us. So I keep on putting in the hard work, year after year, when one day I am certain he will no longer want us in his life. Well done for all you do.
